Dear GSLIS students,

The final Fall 2006 Boston campus schedule is now available at: http://my.simmons.edu/gslis/courses/schedules/06/bos_06_fa.shtml

Changes since yesterday’s note are as follows:

  • LIS 403-01: will be offered on Thursday afternoons, 2:30 - 5:30 (Instructor: Sheila Denn [new faculty member]); this section was originally listed for Tuesday afternoons

  • LIS 403-03: has been cancelled

  • LIS 404-02: dates have been changed

  • LIS 431-01: will be offered on Thursday afternoons, 2:30 - 5:30 (Instructor: TBA)

  • LIS 488-04: instructor has been changed to “TBA”; day and time remain the same

In addition, I am very sorry to say that I am not able to offer a fourth section of 404 at this time. If I am able to add a section in the future, I will send out an announcement so that those of you who would like to do an add/drop will be able to do so.

Some additional notes:

  • SOAR will be updated with this information at some point on Friday; if you do note discrepancies between SOAR and the MyGSLIS website, please let me know.

  • WISE courses have not yet been added, but I will have them posted by Monday.

  • REGISTRATION REMINDER: All sections that end “-20” are MHC campus classes, NOT Boston. If you are viewing the schedule on the MyGSLIS site, this will be clear as you will be going to two different pages; if you are viewing the schedule on SOAR, however, there are views in which all sections are listed together regardless of campus.

  • A list of tentative course offerings for Spring 2007 is also now available at: http://my.simmons.edu/gslis/courses/schedules/07/bos_07_sp.shtml. I have only listed courses to which I have instructors committed; this is not by any means the final list. Several of you have asked about 408 (User Instruction), 409 (Literature of the Social Sciences), 437 (Legal Information Sources), and 448 (Preservation Technologies). I am currently working on getting instructors committed to all of these as well as 451 (Academic Libraries). If you have questions about a particular course not listed on the website or in the text above, please email me and I will be happy to provide whatever information I can on that course.

Thank you for reading this very long email. Happy registering!!!

Best,
Jen

P.S. If you have written to me personally and not yet received a response, please email me again. I’m pretty sure I’ve responded to everyone, but there’s a chance I may have missed you.
