Assistant Director for Instruction Support
Our client, a leading university located outside of Boston, MA is seeking an Assistant Director for Instruction Support. The Assistant Director for Instruction Support directs the development, provision and assessment of the Instruction Support Services (including an
information literacy curriculum and program); manages a professional staff of librarians and technologists; coordinates the planning and implementation of services with other units and groups within the Library Technology Services Department and the rest of the University (including faculty and administrators); assists in the administration and management of the Research and Instruction Support group; and, develops staff skills in instruction.
Database Designer
Our client located North of Boston is seeking a Database Designer.
- Analyze business requirements plus third party and in-house data sources to determine the best method of implementing key features for new and existing products within our product environment.
- Write detailed technical database design specifications that instruct software developers how to map bibliographic data sources to our database’s proprietary format; includes writing instructions for mapping data to XML and to MARC21 formats.
- Generate descriptions of required indexing tables; specify search tags and search limiters; map fields for authority files; and specify the database display on our database interfaces.
- Work closely with software developers and quality analysts on product configurations and complex data transformations to ensure accurate technical implementation of database functionality and appearance according to specifications.
- Provide troubleshooting support from a technical design perspective for existing products.
Web Development Librarian
Our client, a leading university located outside of Boston, MA is seeking a Web Development Librarian. The Web Development Librarian provides expertise in the analysis, design, development and maintenance of university web sites and web applications. In addition, s/he provides information architecture support for major projects including: development of content standards for the enterprise content management system; integrated library systems web interface; digital initiatives projects and major web site re-design. This person will also provide web programming and help to maintain the functionality of library web sites, university web sites and associated systems and participate in the development and deployment of web-based initiatives in support of teaching, learning and scholarship activities.
Database Quality Analyst
Our client located North of Boston is seeking a Database Quality Analyst. Basic Function: Analyze bibliographic database products for compliance to technical specifications.
- Write and maintain test plans for evaluating database products based on technical specifications and requirements.
- Execute test plans to assess test output and test build compliance with required specifications; includes searching in bibliographic databases via online product interfaces
- Identify, report and track defects and known issues for existing products and products in development
- Troubleshoot defects in existing products and products in development
- Assist in the technical deployment of new products, and ongoing updates to existing products.
- Create and maintain user help documentation
