Space is still available in ACRL’s 4-week online seminar, “Designing Web sites for academic libraries, Part 1.”
Course dates: October 16-November 11, 2006
Participants will learn the basics of Web site planning and design and content development, with a concentration on academic libraries. The course will also examine Web standards, usability, and accessibility. XHTML and CSS (external) will be introduced. Participants will end the session with a completed Web site plan and design, and a main Web page that illustrates how the design will be implemented and will allow for minimal usability and accessibility testing. These pages will also be validated XHTML with external .css.
Registration for this seminar is now open. ACRL and ALA members will receive a registration discount. Complete information, including learning outcomes and requirements, and a link to registration are available online at http://www.ala.org/ala/acrl/acrlproftools/webdesign1.htm. This seminar is delivered through WebCT.
