Professor Rong Tang will give a presentation on “Users’ Mental Models of Federated Searching” on Tuesday, November 14th, from 1-2 p.m. in P-206.
Professor Tang will describe her investigation of users’ understanding of MetaLib Combined Search (MCS), a federated search system implemented for the Washington Research Library Consortium. Implications of the findings for information literacy, interface design, and system development will be explored.
Bring your lunch - snacks & drinks will be provided.
Professor Tang’s talk is part of the GSLIS “lunchtime lectures” that cover a variety of topics related to the information professions, including librarianship, archives, computer science, and information technology.
