Internship opportunity/Spring '07

To the Simmons GSLIS community:

An internship opportunity is available at Urban College of Boston, for Spring ‘07.

The internship at Urban College would be a significant learning experience since the intern would have to master the databases provided by the Boston Regional Library System, teach these databases to tutors and students at the College, and provide reference service and library instruction. The student would be the liaison for the interlibrary loan program between Urban College and Suffolk University, and would develop a reserve system for faculty to place library materials on reserve.

A time commitment of 20 hours per week would be needed, Monday through Thursday, from 4 to 9 p.m. It would also give a student very valuable experience in working with inner-city residents as well as the faculty at the College.

Urban College of Boston, located at the Boylston T-stop, is a private,two-year school which awards associates degrees in early childhood education; general studies; and human services administration.
