In celebration of its 200th anniversary, the Boston Athenaeum proudly sponsors this lecture series which will examine issues that have long confronted all libraries. Featuring a number of distinguished speakers, topics include: censorship and freedom of information, copyright, ownership of cultural property, collecting and preservation, the cultural influence of libraries, and the organization of knowledge. As the title of the series suggest, each issue with be discussed in an historical and contemporary context.
Please note: Each lecture will be hosted in the Rabb Lecture Hall of the Boston Public Library. Admission is free, and open to the public. Please see the link below for more details.
