Thursday, March 29th: 5:15-6 pm, GSLIS student lounge (pizza will be served)

Guest speaker & GSLIS professor Tywanna Whorley visits to talk about the freedom of information act (FOIA), a federal statute that ensures the public access to government records. We’ll discuss the ins and outs of filing a FOIA request, with examples and exemptions. Other notable ALASC events for March will be discussed, including participating in the Massachusetts Center for the Book’s “Letters about Literature” event on Library Legislative Day April 5th and a Library Leadership Panel discussion on April 19th.

If you’re unable to attend the meeting, check the ALASC blog for the lastest updates (http://gslis.simmons.edu/blogs/alasc/), but we’re sorry to say there’s no pizza in cyberspace. Hope to see you at the meeting!
