2007 Consumer Health Database Searching Seminars
Last Wednesday of each month - 9am to 10am
Goal - to instruct patients, family members and care providers who disseminate consumer health information to patients and families on the methods and techniques of structured database searching for consumer health information utilizing Kessler Health Education Library’s online resources.
Structure: This monthly class will feature a half-hour lecture followed by a half-hour hands on training session conducted by the chief librarian and/or invited guest instructors. Each session will feature a specific Kessler Health Education Library database and focus on a specific national health theme. A search strategy handout sheet will be provided at the conclusion of each class. Classes are limited to 12 participants, enabling students to work with a search partner on library terminals. If there is sufficient interest, a second class will be held that month for those on the waiting list.
