Thursday, April 19th at 7 pm, Main College Building Room 101.

Light refreshments will be served. The public is welcome to attend.

Five exceptional librarians, one common thread. Leadership. What does leadership look like in the public or the academic library? In a high school library or a library serving patrons with disabilities? How can international library experiences inform the work we do here and abroad? Join us for a panel discussion about progressive library leadership featuring a diverse range of professionals.

  • Diane D’Almeida: Taught in Morocco as a Fulbright Senior Specialist, currently the librarian for the Modern Foreign & Linguistics Department at Boston University
  • Lana Thelen: Deputy Director & Outreach Librarian at the Perkins Braille and Talking Book Library, particularly focused on librarianship’s intersection with social justice, services to underserved populations, and recruiting and supporting librarians of color
  • Mimi Kolosseus: Works at Brandeis University, with many responsibilities as a consultant with an IT/International emphasis. She will attend the Educause leadership conference, and is currently writing a bibliography about leading from within
  • Sarah Feldman: Assistant Supervisor of Circulation at the Newton Free Library, has a particular interest in library administration, access & user services and staff development
  • Dr. Robert Roth: Library Director of The English High School (EHS) Library, part of the Boston Public Schools in Jamaica Plain. Serves on several committees for the Massachusetts School Library Association & American Association of School Librarians.
