In terms of quality, not all children’s books are created equal. During this workshop, Anita Silvey will share her carefully selected list of the best books ever written for children — the ones that have stood the test of time. She will show how these books became classics and why they delight, inspire, and motivate students to read. And since classics get published every year, she will also share her choices for the best new books, the ones that will still be in print twenty years from now.

Faculty: Anita Silvey, former Editor of the “Horn Book Magazine”, Publisher of Children’s Books for Houghton Mifflin, and author of “100 Best Books for Children” and “500 Great Books for Teens”; anitasilvy@aol.com

*Current GSLIS students pay $80 *(50% of the regular $160 tuition).
