ASIST&T Career Event: Speed Geeking II
When: May 1, 2007; 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Where: Boston Campus, Kotzen Meeting Center
Speed Geeking is the annual career event sponsored by ASIS&T@Simmons. In speed geeking, small groups of students meet with one professional librarian (aka geek) at a time to gain insight into what it’s like to be a working librarian. You can ask questions about their job, patrons, professional development or get tips on library school. Your group will meet with a new geek every 10 minutes. Afterwards, there will be some time to mingle and ask additional questions. Naturally, we’ll have some snacks.
This year we’ve lined up five great geeks, including systems, reference and collection development librarians. We’ve also got a subject specialist and someone from a public library.
Want to come? Please RSVP via YARR! by Wednesday, April 25. Got questions? Contact asist@simmons.edu. More information regarding the geeks is available on YARR! and the ASIS&T@Simmons website.
