Office Assistant: LibraryThing

LibraryThing, the web’s largest and most innovative site for book lovers, is looking for a full-time Office Assistant. We’re especially interested in hiring someone with knowledge of libraries and metadata.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer service-corresponding with LibraryThing members, authors, and libraries. LibraryThing is a community-driven website-communicating with members is a big part of this job.
  • Basic office management-minor bookkeeping, keep track of employee files, invoices, etc.
  • Brainstorm and play with new features, assist with PR (press and blogs); generally help out wherever you’re needed.

Skills:

  • We value brains, dedication, creativity and bibliophilia.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Basic computer skills essential
  • HTML, CSS, knowledge of social networking, bibliographic data or library systems a plus.
