Duties/Description: The Information Services Coordinator supervises the day-to-day information desk operation of the Horn Library Information Services Department. Specifically, the Coordinator will coordinate and direct the student information assistants at the circulation desks of the Information Services Department.
Duties include: supervise and train student information assistants; communicate library policies and procedures to students, faculty, staff, and visitors; provide basic “ready-reference” assistance to the library’s customers using a variety of print and electronic resources; assist with the use and maintenance of all public service equipment, computers, and printers; check in/out and renew library materials; collect, print, and distribute overdue notices; and manage intra-library ordering and distribution of books and materials. Information Services Coordinators are encouraged to pursue library projects pertaining to their own interests, and projects may be undertaken to support coursework.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Strong technical skills and comfort in a supervisory role are also necessary. A bachelor’s degree is required; some work towards an MLS will enhance a candidate’s application.
This is a full-time (28 hours per week), non-exempt positions with benefits and will cover the hours Tuesday-Friday, 1:00pm-6:00pm and Saturday, 8:30am-5:30pm. Flexibility in Tuesday-Friday hours may be available to accommodate MLS courses.
