Part Time Archives, DiMella Shaffer

DiMella Shaffer invites applications for a part-time (15 hours per week) position for the fall of 2007. The position is designed to provide practical experience for a graduate student interested in pursuing a career in a corporate library/records management/archives setting.
Projects may include:
- The appraising, cataloging, and transfer to off-site storage of architectural project records and drawings -Cataloging of vendor product catalogs and design library materials -Records surveys -Moving digital project collections from active to off-site storage
Requirements: The candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program in library sciences and have completed LIS 415: Information Organization (or a comparable course). Applicants must be detail-oriented, have good organizational and communication skills, be familiar with MS Office applications, and be able to lift and carry a 30-pound box. Archives/Records management coursework and experience with FileMaker Pro is preferred.
