Reference Librarian, Part Time

Seeking experienced reference librarian to work part time in a busy and diverse academic setting.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist students and faculty in locating, using and evaluating information
• Instruct students in the use of the online catalog (C/W MARS), databases and the Internet *Teach classes in the use of library resources
• Promote information literacy
• Design library handouts and displays
• Contribute to web pages and the library blog
• Assist in reference department projects

Minimum Qualifications:

• MLS from an accredited library school
• Reference experience in an academic library
• Prefer experience with C/W MARS or similar system
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work easily with the public
• Ability to teach library skills to groups and individuals
• Familiarity with MS Office, Web 2.0, .asp and Blackboard preferred

Salary and Hours: $22/hr. 24-28 hours/week during academic year. May include 8 week summer session. MCCC Part time Unit Member. No benefits.
