Records Management Intern (Paid), Lesley University

The Lesley University Archives is currently seeking an intern with a general understanding of records management to work on a short project.

Working under the supervision of the archivist, the intern will help Lesley University’s Office of Alumni Relations and Development create a records management plan for active and non-active records. The intern will be expected to survey the record collection; research best practices for the management of university alumni records; and develop a detailed proposal, including guidelines for implementation. The proposal must include recommendations for the following: what constitutes a record of value; a records schedule; a filing system (rules for filing); and an accessible shelving system.

The anticipated amount of time for this project will be roughly 40 hours and the intern will receive $450 in compensation. The 40 hours can be completed at the discretion of the intern with the understanding that the deadline for project completion is the end of October. The Lesley University Archives is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and is accessible by public transportation. For directions and additional information, please visit our website, http://www.lesley.edu/about/archive/index.html

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wants more hands-on experience working as a records manager in a university setting. Interested applicants should submit a resume that includes educational and professional experiences, along with the name of at least one reference, to:
