Have you taken the Collection Maintenance or Basic Materials Repair class? Do you have experience repairing books outside of class?
The Library is seeking a self motivated student who can take over the Mending Department. Students need to have experience in book repair - replacing spines, hinge repair and tightening, tipping in pages, and repairing torn pages.
We repair books for use by students, not to preserve them for posterity, but we also like to do things correctly and appreciate the experience you might bring to the position! We have all the supplies you might require, but we need your expertise and enthusiasm.
The salary is $12/hour. We are looking for about 10 hours/week but are very flexible.
Please apply to Judy Narosny @ narosny@simmons.edu or @ 617-521-2748
