Recruiting and Administrative Coordinator - GSLIS West
21 hours/week - Part-time Benefits Eligible

The Recruiting and Administrative Coordinator for GSLIS West participates in the marketing of the program and the recruitment of student prospects. Writes copy for GSLIS, College, and advertising publications, organizes and edits web pages, works with radio and other media, arranges information sessions and attends career fairs. Builds network of contacts for recruitment. Additionally, coordinates support for GSLIS West faculty in their teaching, including Vista (web-based learning management system) support, classroom logistics, support for the office computer lab, book orders, and special requests. Provides logistical support to the Assistant Dean for managing the office and the program.

This is a 21 hour per week position at the Simmons GSLIS West office in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required (MLS preferred)
  • 3+ years prior office or library experience required
  • Recruiting and higher education experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong commitment to customer service required
  • Web services skills preferred (XHTML, CSS, etc.)
  • Demonstrated commitment to libraries and library science preferred
  • Simmons GSLIS experience preferred, but not required
