Collection Development Assistant

The Harvard Law School Library is seeking a part-time Collection Development Assistant. This position reports to the Bibliographer for Anglo-American Law.

Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; enrollment in a Masters of Library Science program or previous library experience preferred. Ability to work with details in an organized and accurate manner; ability to work independently and to organize work flow; knowledge of word processing and basic office skills; familiarity with integrated library systems preferred; physical stamina, including ability to lift boxes, move books and materials.

Specific duties include:

• Assistance with regular, routine tasks related to selection of materials for purchase
• Assistance with ongoing cancellation projects, weeding projects and collection evaluation projects
• Preparation of materials for selection committee meetings
• Data entry and maintenance of information in library’s electronic resource management systems
• Processing of gift materials
• Other duties as required.

Schedule/Hours: 10 hours per week.

Compensation: $11.00 per hour.
