Interested in arts librarianship? Just need a break from cataloging?
Join us for the next brown bag lunch, and help us welcome guest speaker Jean Borgatti, lecturer in African and African American Art History. Professor Borgatti will present (Re)Capturing Africa: The Art of Willie Cole.
“Willie Cole’s work suggests a post-modern eclecticism - combining references, both intended and serendipitous, to the appropriation of African forms by modern artists… He invests his forms with meaning and history both commercial and communal - although he might say he rediscovers meaning that is already present.”
Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in P-207. Please feel free to bring your lunch - snacks and drinks will be provided. This event is open to the entire Simmons community.
Save the date: 11/27/07 - Professor Amy Pattee will present When in Doubt, Choose “B”: Encoding teenage girls’ magazine quizzes.
