For current students:
To all interested parties working in small public libraries in Massachusetts :
Nancy Hayes Clune of the Worcester Public Library, president of the Massachusetts Library Aid Association, is happy to announce a scholarship program to subsidize training in library and information science for librarians and library staff presently employed in
small Massachusetts public libraries.
The scholarship is for courses that will begin in spring, 2008.
The deadline for application is Thursday, December 13th at 4:00 pm.
Please note that applicants:
· Must be currently employed in a Massachusetts public library (school librarians are not eligible)
· Must not already hold an MLS degree
· Must work in a library that has a population of under 35,000
· Should have an annual salary that does not exceed $35, 000
Please note this program is not an MBLC program. It is coordinated and administered by the Massachusetts Library Aid Association with assistance from the MBLC. A request for an application should be directed to MBLC administrative assistant Rachel Devin.

There is also a possibility of a small staff development grant (under $500 max.) for libraries meeting the above population criteria. Interest in the staff development grant should also be directed to Rachel Devin.
