Associate Director, Curriculum Services
Knowledge and Library Services, Harvard Business School
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor
Standards Act (FSLA.)
Grade: 59
Duties & Responsibilities:
Working with the Managing Director of Baker Library Services (BLS), this position develops and implements the Knowledge and Library Services (KLS)strategy to support Harvard Business School (HBS) faculty in their curriculum and course development work. Working at a programmatic level, develops and manages the KLS Curriculum Services Strategy. Leads a team of library and higher education professionals who work in collaboration with faculty, research associates, and other subject matter experts in a team environment to design and deliver new learning resources and information support services to fulfill KLS’s strategic objectives in the curriculum services area. Evaluates and adjusts products and services to ensure they meet HBS curricula needs.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
Ph.D. or equivalent strongly preferred; experience in higher education
course or curriculum development and familiarity with business information resources required. An MLS or comparable experience with information research is desired. Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience, showing increased levels of responsibility for budgets, staff professional development, and strategy delivery. Proven ability to set priorities, establish plans, and deliver on expectations and to establish business requirements and manage resource allocations. Strong coaching and staff motivation skills. Expertise in project management leadership. Knowledge of business information resources in the health care and science-based business areas preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer relationship management skills and ability to work on cross-functional teams. Computer technology and Web literacy.
