I am a Simmons alumna (‘76 Undergraduate; 89 GS) and former faculty

EDUCATION REQUIRED
A master’s degree from an accredited institution in:
Library science (M.L.S.) or library information services (M.L.I.S) or
Information Technology Education (M.ED) or Instructional Technology or Educational Communication and Technology or M.S. Education in Instructional Technology, or a degree directly aligned with education, library resources and instructional technology. Ph.D. is preferred.
EXPERIENCES AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED
• Minimum of five years full-time college teaching strongly preferred and at least three years in a supervisory management experience in an academic unit, online education program, library or learning resource center. The Dean should possess adequate qualifications to hold the rank of associate or full professor.
• Knowledge, skill and experience in online teaching, instructional technology, or faculty training.
• Knowledge of library functions: reference, collections, acquisitions and cataloging, integrated online library systems, information literacy, and pertinent State and Federal regulations.
• Knowledge, skill and experience working with faculty from a variety of disciplines to develop new online programs.
• Strong knowledge of emerging information technologies and relevant software as they relate to libraries and online education programs.
• Skills in collaboration, problem solving, creativity, oral/written communication, planning and budget management/administration.
• Ability to create systematic approaches to learning.
• Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and Internet required.
• Banner a plus; Familiar with Liblime Koha open source initiative desired.
• Demonstrated evidence of detail-orientation, academic service orientation, ability to work independently, and great levels of responsibility required.
• Ability to travel between locations required.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally and nationally.
• Employment contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
