Manager of Opening Day Collection - Nashville, TN

Library Associates Companies (LAC) seeks qualified candidates for the position of Manager of Opening Day Collection, on behalf of our client, a major book wholesaler. This position would be ideal for a librarian with public library experience and a passion for collection development to take their career to the next level. Our client offers very competitive compensation and benefits for the right candidate.This position is in Nashville, TN.

Requirements:
* Manage all aspects of Opening Day Collection (ODC) projects for library customers.
* Establish services and deliverables
* Conduct effective customer presentations at major trade shows and conferences.
* Interact extensively with other departments to ensure proper implementation of projects from account set-up to project completion.
* Apply working knowledge of processing, cataloging, operations, and transportation to identify and implement workflow improvements for ODC projects, and to maintain competitiveness in providing new or enhanced ODC products and services.

Qualifications:

  • MLS from an ALA accredited school strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years Public Library experience required
  • Strong knowledge of cataloging
  • Strong familiarity with MARC, Dewey, and LC classification schemes
  • Prior opening day collection experience strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills a must
  • Outgoing demeanor strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
