Administrative Assistant, Boston Library Consortium, Inc.
The Boston Library Consortium, Inc. is an association serving 19
academic & research institutions located throughout New England(www.blc.org)
The individual in this position will provide administrative support to
the Consortium and will be responsible for:
- reception via telephone and e-mail
- calendar maintenance
- correspondence
- event/meeting arrangements and management
- web design and maintenance
The ability to juggle multiple priorities with initiative, proficiency, good humor and diplomacy is highly valued. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skill are important.
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; coursework in library
science and or work experience in an academic library or non-profit
environment.
Knowledge of and aptitude in website development and maintenance is
essential as is working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with proficiency in Word and Excel. Ability to problem solve, think and work independently and show initiative is essential. The position reports to the Office Manager.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with an interest and
aptitude in learning new applications and organizational skills are
essential.
The Consortium provides an excellent benefits package. This position is 20 hours per week, with benefits. The BLC is an EEOO employer.
