Non-Exempt Position Description

This is a part time temporary position available immediately through August 31, 2008. University hours of operation are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Flexible scheduling is acceptable. TITLE: Digital Photograph Cataloger

DEPARTMENT: University Relations

REPORTS TO: Web and Electronic Communications Coordinator

BASIC FUNCTION: Organization of digital photographs in asset management system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Describe digital photographs in Salve Regina’s new digital asset management system and ensure the consistent application of metadata standards to new object records.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Interest in working with photographs.
Basic Computer knowledge and willingness to learn procedures for data entry involving digital asset management system.
Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize multiple associations pertaining to university photographs.
Strong memory and ability to focus.
Must be able to work cooperatively and take direction.
Strong written communication skills.
Familiarity with metadata and experience working in a library, archives, or museum setting preferred.

LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:
Valid driver’s license required.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
