LIBRARY CLERK — Position Description

The Library Clerk is primarily responsible for helping patrons at the circulation/reserves desk and shelving books. Assists librarians with other projects as needed. The position is currently 8 hours per week and reports to the Library Director. Salary is $11.35 per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performs daily library functions, including circulation,shelving, retrieval of reserve materials.

  2. Provides research and reference assistance to students, faculty, and the public; provides instruction in the use of library material, including indexes, reference works, and electronic resources.

  3. Assists Librarians with specific projects.

Qualifications:
B.A. or previous library experience required. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with the literature of architecture or art history desirable.

Requirements:
Must be able to work two evenings a week from 6:00 to 10:00 pm.
Must be able to use a stepstool and ladder.
