Come and live and work in Thailand

The International School Eastern Seaboard (ISE) requires a PreK-12 Librarian in August 2008.

The School: ISE an American curriculum, non-sectarian, day school located adjacent to the Burapha Golf Club in Chonburi Province. The Burapha Golf club creates a pleasant surrounding for the school community and provides a variety of sports and recreational facilities that are available to the students. The school offers grades Pre-K3 through 12 and currently enrolls more than 400 students. It is located on the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand (nearby towns include Pattaya, Sriracha, and Ban Chang) and was founded in 1994. The school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma program for students in Grades 11 and 12. Our graduates have attended university in more than 10 countries around the world. ISE is an IB World School and in 2005, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accredited ISE through the 2011 school year. The school is certified by the Thai Ministry of Education. Qualifications: Masters Degree in Library Science with two years experience in schools. Current training in the use of technology in libraries and date-base search engines are a necessity.

The Job: Our teaching librarian will work in both our elementary and secondary libraries. She/He will supervise and work with two library assistants. Responsibilities include providing reference assistance to students, faculty and staff using both print media & electronic sources, aid in the selection & use of appropriate library resources & instruction of students in the use of library catalogs, indexes & other reference sources. There will be special projects and other library duties.

Salary & Benefits: Starting salaries are between Thai Baht 1,400,000 (US$ 42,420.) and Thai Baht 1,500,000 (US$ 45,450.) depending on experience. We provide a housing allowance, airplane tickets at the beginning and end of each contract, end-of-year bonus, health and life insurance and professional development support.
