Systems Librarian, Head of Library Systems
Join us to help make change happen! Mason Library is an integral part of the dynamic learning environment of Keene State College. We are seeking a Systems Librarian/Head of Library Systems to work with us in implementing pedagogically sound and emerging technologies to enhance our active learning environment.
This position, in addition to supporting the Library’s mission and day-to-day library operations, is responsible for managing the information technology resources of the Library to maximize their positive support of teaching, learning and scholarship for students, faculty and staff of the College. Under the administrative review of the Director of the Library and in collaboration with the Heads of Technical Services, Access Services, and Public Services, this position has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the services, policies and procedures of the Library Systems Office. This position supervises and evaluates employees; evaluates and implements new technological services; serves as liaison to IT and outside vendors; participates at the department head level in the library; and collaborates with the local public library with whom the Library shares the Innovative Interfaces Inc.’s ILS; in addition to collaborating with other outside constituen! cies (college webmaster, USNH, NHCUC, etc.) on a regular basis. The Library Systems Office designs and provides library staff development training.

Qualifications Required: ALA accredited Master’s Degree, or international equivalent, four years of systems experience. Working knowledge of integrated library systems and operations. Excellent organizational, problem solving, written and oral communication, supervisory and negotiating skills. Knowledge of general library operations and service requirements. Familiarity with local area networks, PC-based applications software. Knowledge of web design and scripting languages. Must have experience using HTML and UNIX or LINUX. Ability to work in a mixed hardware/software environment and to work both independently and collegially in a rapidly changing environment.
Desirable: Academic library experience. In-depth understanding of technological trends and developments in academic libraries. Experience with Innovative Interfaces Inc., with SFX, MetaLib and DigiTool, CLIO, ARIEL and other electronic information loan software. Evidence of professional involvement. Additionally, the Institution has identified desirable qualifications that support our commitment to creating and maintaining a diverse campus community including the ability to speak a second language or to bring a multicultural perspective to the Institution.
