BIBLIOGRAPHIC SERVICES SUPERVISOR
Full-time position with benefits, for Cape Libraries Automated Materials Sharing, Inc. (CLAMS, Inc.), a non-profit automated resource sharing network serving a consortium of 25 members at 35 libraries throughout Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket.

MAJOR DUTIES:
a. Coordinate the acquisition of MARC records from OCLC and the creation of original cataloging records for print, non-print, and emerging resources.
b. Maintain bibliographic and authority record parameters and assist with record loading programs.
c. Resolve discrepancies in bibliographic records, including complex copy cataloging, editing, and merging of MARC records.
d. Provide help and support via email and by phone to member library staff primarily in Cataloging and Serials aspects of Millennium System.
e. Provide training to member library staff in Cataloging and Serials modules; may provide training in other relevant Millennium modules as needed. Prepare training materials for workshops, distribution to libraries and for staff web page.
f. Install and test hardware and software needed for bibliographic services.
g. Supervise Cataloging Assistant and project cataloger.
h. Maintain statistics; write reports and documentation as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: MLS degree; professional cataloging experience, including at least one year of original cataloging using a bibliographic utility - OCLC preferred; demonstrated knowledge and experience with AACR2-Rev, LCSH, LCRI, MARC formats, web-based bibliographic tools and services; oral and written communication skills, supervisory experience, flexibility, and ability to work as part of a team in a changing environment.

Preferred: Familiarity and experience with Innovative Millennium, authority control, consortia systems, automated acquisitions and serials systems. Experience with Digital projects desirable.

Salary range starts at $42,000 plus benefits.
