Instructional Services Librarian for Undergraduate Programs
THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE LIBRARIES

The University of Tennessee (UT) Libraries invites applications for the position of Instructional Services Librarian for Undergraduate Programs. The successful candidate will join a team of four librarians in the newly organized Integrated User Services (IUS) Department. We are seeking an instruction librarian who has a passion for teaching and guiding undergraduate students, who is excited about contributing to the evolution of our learning commons, and who possesses an affinity for the application of emerging technologies to instructional services. Appointment at rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Minimum salary is $44,000.

Required qualifications: ALA accredited master’s degree. Applicant should demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the philosophy behind the continuing evolution of a learning commons. Possess knowledge of current trends in information literacy and evaluation as well as an understanding of learning theory and its integration into successful instructional technologies. Provide evidence of experience using web authoring tools and an awareness of the application of Web 2.0 to library services and the learning process. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate an ability to articulate the place of the library in the higher education curriculum and to interact with faculty in a diplomatic and positive manner. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment accompanied by initiative, self-direction, and commitment to innovation, creativity, and excellence.
