Unique work opportunity for a Simmons GSLIS student for the coming school year - 2008-2009 - at King and Amigos Schools in Cambridge. A note from the librarian:
In the past our library has employed a Simmons students as the library assistant. Working as a library assistant while working toward their masters in library science gives students the opportunity to experience a school library beyond their practicum experience.
As library assistant the student is involved with the daily management of the library and will be able to have a whole year of student interaction and teacher collaboration. In addition, they can be hired as substitutes on the days when I am absent. This year the job was 14 hours a week at $15.00 an hour. The hours may increase to 19.5 hours for the coming year.
I can be reached at snovogrodsky@cpsd.us or at 617-780-6722.
