Farragut Elementary School is looking for guest readers on Friday, April 18th. They are celebrating a “Reading is Fundamental” day with the motto “Opening Season for Reading.” Volunteers will spend about an hour reading to students in classrooms (from 10-11am or 11am-noon). In keeping with the theme, they are asking volunteers to dress in baseball gear.

ABOUT FARRAGUT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Farragut is within walking distance of Simmons (about 15 min). It’s at the corner of Fenwood Road and Huntington Ave. They don’t have a full-time librarian, so Simmons has formed a partnership to help them keep their library running smoothly. Students and staff have volunteered for Alternative Spring Break at Farragut, working on various projects such as creating new bulletin boards, processing new books, and weeding. Students have also volunteered as guest readers in past years, and Simmons runs other tutoring programs as well.

IF YOU CAN BE A GUEST READER…
