Job Overview:
The New England College of Finance (NECF) College Librarian provides leadership and vision to guide NECF in its mission. The NECF Librarian is the primary spokesperson for the library and represents the library interests to the college community. The NECF Librarian’s overall responsibility is for the day-to-day administration of the library including its resources, programs and services, and its physical facilities. The College librarian will be expected to understand the college philosophy and integrate the values and principles into the provision of the library services, keep abreast of developments relevant to academic library standards and services, and have a strong vision for the role of the academic library in the graduate and master degree experiences.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively and to communicate effectively
• Evidence of strong presentation skills
• Familiarity with current library trends and technologies
• Commitment to excellence in services to students, faculty and staff
Responsibilities:
• Plans, implements, and evaluates goals and general library policies and procedures
• Provides leadership in exploring emerging library trends and technologies.
• Coordinates and provides a full range of references services, using current methods and technologies to meet student, faculty and staff needs.
• Keeps students and faculty informed about library issues.
• Supports student learning.
• Maintains knowledge of course offerings and keeps abreast of developments in assigned fields.
• Provides knowledge of academic and research programs to support students’ curriculum needs.
• Collaborates with and promotes outreach to faculty to integrate library instruction and information literacy into the curricula.
• Coordinates collaboration for the ongoing development of the library’s website content.
• Serves as chair of the Library Committee.
• Fulfills other professional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Masters Degree in Library Services
