The Digital Divide: A Panel Discussion

PLG, ASIS&T, and SIR present a panel discussion on the Digital Divide on Monday, April 7, at 3:00 pm. Speakers will address access to technology from rural, urban, and international perspectives, and we’ll talk about how libraries can impact this important issue.
Speakers include:
Pat Oyler, GSLIS faculty member, who will talk about technology and access issues she has encountered working extensively with libraries in Vietnam.
Susan O’Connor, of the Timothy Smith Network, who will talk about providing computer access and teaching tech skills to residents of Roxbury, MA.
Jessamyn West, blogger at librarian.net, who will share her experiences offering technical support to libraries throughout rural Vermont.
