6-mo. PT position: Northeastern Univ. School of Law Library, Boston

Northeastern University School of Law Library is looking for a Part-Time Law Library Supervisor at the Circulation Desk. This is a great opportunity for a library school student to learn various circulation operations while getting some supervisory experience. All this and a quick commute from Simmons too!

Description of Duties:

  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the Library and Law School Building
  • Supervise 1-3 Work-study students
  • Ensure coverage of the Circulation Desk
  • Perform supervisory Circulation functions
  • Collaborate with the full time supervisor(s) for work flow and coverage
  • Must be able to work shifts in regular hours as well as extended hours

THIS IS A 6 MONTH POSITION

Requirements:

  • Must be extremely reliable and organized
  • Must display good judgment and problem-solving ability
  • Previous Library experience preferred
  • Must be willing to learn Library procedures
  • Must be flexible, dependable, have good people skills and attention to detail

Shifts:

Sunday & Monday Shift

  • Regular hours: SUN 2p-10p; MON 5p-10p (13 hours/week)
  • Extended hours: SUN 9a-4p; MON 5p-11p (13 hours/week)

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Shift

  • Regular hours: TUE-THU 5p-10p (15 hours/week)
  • Extended hours: TUE-THU 5p-11p (18 hours/week)

Friday & Saturday Shift

  • Regular hours: FRI 4p-9p; SAT 9a-5p (13 hours/week)
  • Extended hours: FRI 4p-11p; SAT 4p-11p (14 hours/week)

Pay: $13.00/hour not to exceed 19 hours/week

Northeastern is a short walk from Simmons (10-15 minutes) and is accessible from the Green Line (E Line - Heath Street), from the Orange Line (Ruggles Station) and from the #39 MBTA bus line. This is a great opportunity to get some “real world” experience.
