QUAL: The Town of Provincetown is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Library Director/Director of Development. This is a full-time, professional level position requiring a Masters of Library Science from an ALA accredited institution, six years of library experience at a supervisory level and three years of experience in fundraising, grant writing or development.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strength in written communication and program planning, success in grant writing and external fundraising, written and verbal communications skills, the ability to set priorities and work with frequent interruptions, strong interpersonal skills, organization, procedural and public relations proficiency, and an ability to develop and maintain a rapport with the public, as well as an ability to supervise and secure the cooperation of the staff.
Computer literacy, including but not limited to creating web content and using organization and online tools, word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, html, internet, financial planning, report generation and database skills are also required.
DUTIES: Responsibilities include assisting the Library Director in planning, organization, supervision, development and administration of all library services, personnel, operations and programs and include working in close coordination with the Library Director and Board of Library Trustees to plan and supervise the implementation of all adult library programming, publicity and fund raising activities in support both of the Library’s annual campaign and in their efforts to address substantial capital needs and long-term debt.
SALARY: Permanent, Full-Time, Non-Union Position, Grade 11. Starting annual salary is $47,187 with comparable benefits package.
