Title: Database for Instrument Specification
Description:
The successful candidate will create a novel database to manage information pertinent to an existing instrument. The purpose of this access-based-database, is to allow the manufacturing personnel to place-orders for all the electronic components based on existing bill-of-materials. Therefore, this access-based-database should archive all electronics assembly with its bill-of-material, with its corresponding datasheet and images of components assigned to each part number. Furthermore this database will enable the fabrication service to manufacture all the electronics boards and components of this
instrument based on the construction drawings required for assembling the instrument. This access-based-database should be located on a LAN Computer. By logging onto this Assigned network address, the user will be accessing the access-based-database using a browser. The ABILab at the AA. Martinos Center at Massachusetts General Hospital will
provide all the Software tools and framework required. The successful candidate will be hired as a temp-contractor and will be using her/his best skills of library-science to design and create such database and will have the responsibility of populating the access-base-database.
Required course work: database theory.

Location: AA. Martinos Center, Charlestown, MA. The Working at home is possible after initial training.
Time: approximately 40 hours per week, but it is open to part-time as well. The candidate will be hired for approximately three summer months.
Final outcome: The database is part of a public domain distribution of the instrument and the final approved access-based-database will be freely distributed in the internet with the help of the candidate. If candidate will be succesful in building web pages, the end product will be publicly available.
