5/13/08 Brockton, MA, 2008 -2009 ANTICIPATED OPENING: K-8 Library Teacher, Brockton Public Schools.

DUTIES: Full-time, certified Library Teacher needed to manage and operate the library program for a K-8 School of approximately 900 students. Includes working with a full-time library paraprofessional. The schedule is fixed for grades K-8. Grades 6-8 also have time for flexible scheduling.

QUALIFICATIONS: MA DOE license. Library Media Specialist candidates must demonstrate opportunities for collaboration; stimulate interest in reading; model effective use of information and technology; and teach research skills and use of online databases. Qualified candidates will have exceptional communication and inter-personal skills, strong classroom management techniques, experience in teaching methods for locating and answering curriculum needs through critical thinking, and experience with collection development and automation systems.
