Publishers Communication Group, a division of Publishing Technology Inc., is the marketing and sales consultancy for scholarly and professional publishers, with locations in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Oxford, England. PCG was established in 1989 as a resource for scholarly publishers to more effectively work with the global library market. PCG offers qualitative and quantitative marketing research, international multi-lingual telemarketing services, UK- and US-based customer services operations, sales representation, and strategic consulting.

Purpose of the job:
The Market Research Account Executive will work closely with the Account Managers and the Head of Research to help implement the teleresearch projects and ensure consistent quality throughout the different projects.

PCG’s teleresearch services include follow up calls on expired institutional journal subscriptions, promotions of new offerings to libraries around the world, or conducting market research surveys for a wide variety of publishers.

The Market Research Account Executive will have a key role in insuring top quality of data to our clients and will help customize each project to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the Account Managers on project timeline and deliverables
  • Help set up research projects and monitor progress to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Control quality of deliverables, create regular updates and reports for clients
  • Manage follow up necessary with each campaign including sending emails or sample copies.
  • Occasional telemarketing phone calls to European and North American libraries
  • Assist in coordinating focus groups as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in market research or marketing, preferably in a publishing environment
  • A degree in library science or marketing a plus
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional research ability
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, HTML necessary
  • Fluency in a second language or experience with e-marketing a plus
