TITLE: Photo Library Intern

SUPERVISOR: Designer Manager

PURPOSE: Reporting to our Design Manager the Photo Library Intern will assist Oxfam America’s Communications Department on updating our online photo library for our print publications and our Web site. This is an unpaid internship.

START DATE: June 16, 2008

TIME COMMITMENT: A minimum of 20 hours a week.

DUTIES:
• Work with Design Manager to increase / maintain a digital asset library for the Communications Department using digital asset management software. (we will teach this software to you)
• Develop and document workflow processes and business rules for data gathering and addition of assets to digital library.
• Work with writers and Editorial Manager to gather information related to images and other assets for uploading to digital library.
• Maintain and update a strict electronic filing system for a database of several thousand images for download.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required skills:
• Strong organizational s
kills and the ability to maintain a strict filing/organizing system • Comfort with personal computers and Windows operating system
• Ability to learn and master new software quickly

Preferred additional skills:
• Education or experience in Library Sciences
• Experience with digital asset management
• Experience developing workflow processes for digital asset management
