Summer Intern - Newbury Town Library (Byfield, MA)

The Newbury Town Library in Byfield, MA is looking for a volunteer to serve as a Reference/Young Adult librarian one day a week for six hours during the months of July and August. Duties would include staffing the Reference Desk, answering phone inquiries, readers’ advisory, materials processing, interlibrary loan, and other tasks as assigned. This is a chance to work with an experienced friendly staff in a beautiful 7 year old library in a lovely rural setting about 50 minutes north of Boston just off Rt. 95. The person in this position will gain valuable experience in several aspects of librarianship and will receive a letter of recognition for their resume. The library is open Mon. and Wed. from 12:00-7:00 and Tues. and Thurs. from 10:00-6:00. Days and hours of work are negotiable.
