Position Description IIS Library Intern (Content Management Team)

Summary:
Reporting to the Investment Research Center Manager, the IIS Intern is a member of the Investment Information Services (IIS) Content Management Team whose main responsibility is to ensure Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMR Co) Investment Professionals have access to “best in class” content. The IIS Content Management team also collaborates with other Fidelity groups on the assessment and acquisition of content for cross-organizational use.

IIS Content Management Team is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented and flexible individual to support the IIS Counterparty Research & Analysis (CRA) Library and virtual libraries, as well as participate in special project activities. Primary tasks include supporting the CRA Librarian in converting a paper-based library into a virtual collection, assisting in the scanning of documents, and performing data quality control.

Position type: temporary; 30-40 hours/week

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist with conversion of paper-based library to electronic library.
  • Review CRA collection files and determine if documents can be obtained electronically, or if original must be scanned.
  • Scan documents as needed.
  • Create files and folders according to pre-determined naming conventions.
  • Perform quality control measures as necessary.
  • Conduct research on electronic availability of insurance documents.
  • Make recommendations for conversion of CRA Insurance collection from a physical to electronic format.
  • Provide input on content management system requirements for virtual collection.
  • Perform other tasks related to archiving and virtual collections as needed.

Qualifications: Candidate should be pursuing a degree in Library Sciences or similar field and have an interest in corporate librarianship
