If you enjoy working with children (and adults), join our library team to run a busy Children’s Room. Under the supervision of the Library Director, the Children’s Librarian performs professional and supervisory work planning, implementing and managing a comprehensive program of service to young library users.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to selecting and purchasing library materials, planning, developing, coordinating and executing programs designed to serve children from babies to teens; acting as liaison with other agencies in the community serving children; and creating an environment in the children’s area which provides for enjoyable and convenient use of library resources.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, with coursework in education or child development; Master’s in Library Science or degree candidate preferred. We are looking for an individual who models good customer service practice, knows library systems and particular needs of child library users.

Grade 6 position with an annual salary range of $40,393 to $49,691, depending on qualifications.

In order to meet our needs for the summer months, we will consider a temporary hire.
