The elementary library department of Newton Public Schools is looking for a library teacher with outstanding leadership qualities to ensure that the library program is an integral part of the instructional program. The school system is looking for a candidate who is outgoing, energetic and committed to providing students with instruction in research techniques for print and electronic resources, in the skills and knowledge required to effectively use a library, and in the selection and appreciation of literature.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
· Develop best teaching practices and professional development
· Implement technology in a school library as an instructional tool
· Manage library automation systems and library technology systems
· Integrate information literacy into the classroom curricula
· Ability to work in a collegial manner
· Assume responsibility and work independently
