Fontbonne Academy Library Assistant
25 hr/wk during the school year
The Fontbonne Academy Library Assistant staffs the circulation desk; supports students to develop library and research skills; supervises students in the Library; creates copy catalog records; works closely with the Librarian to assist in creating research aids, bibliographies, Web 2.0 content, etc.; and provides related services to the Fontbonne Community.
Fontbonne Academy is a girls’ college preparatory Catholic school located in Milton, MA, just off Rte 3.
Bachelors degree or coursework for Masters of Library Science. Competence with on-line catalog and circulation system; competence in academic database and Web searching. Skill or experience supervising high school students. Web 2.0 background highly desirable. Ability to assume responsibilities for the library in the absence of the Director. Understanding of an environment that espouses an ethic of service to the community. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
