Circulation Assistant
Duties/Description:
The Circulation Assistant is primarily responsible for tasks at the Circulation Desk: opening and closing the library, charging and discharging circulating and reserve materials, answering questions regarding patron accounts and policies, and gathering statistics on foot traffic. In addition, this person will assist with the processing of Reserves materials and the training and supervision of student assistants. This position provides an adult presence in the absence of regular full time staff. Special projects as required.
Hours:
Up to 13 hours per week during the academic year. Every Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (8 hours) required. Four weeknight hours: Wednesday and Thursday from 9 to 11 p.m. strongly preferred.
Salary: $13 per hour
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and previous experience in an academic library setting. Familiarity with ExLibris Voyager integrated library system is a plus.
