FALL 2008 INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR SIMMONS COLLEGE GSLIS STUDENTS

Are you looking for a chance to put those skills you’ve been learning in the classroom to good use in the real world of libraries and gain some practical experience at the same time?

If so, we can offer you a full range of opportunities to work as a librarian under professional guidance, helping us provide reference, information literacy instruction, web, circulation, and technical services to students and faculty in our small academic library with a personal touch.

WHERE?

Bay Path College is a dynamic private college located in nearby Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Since our founding in 1897, we have emphasized a career-focused curriculum that prepares students to become professionals and leaders in their fields. Our innovative programs for undergraduate women, our One-Day-a-Week Saturday program, our graduate programs for men and women, and Bay Path Online have made us a pioneer among our peer colleges.

The Hatch Library supports the college’s residential and commuter students, its programs on all levels and at two satellite campuses, in Charlton and Burlington, MA, and is open seven days a week year round.

WHEN?

During the academic year (September-May) our library is open for the following hours:
*Monday-Thursday 8 AM – 11 PM
*Friday 8 AM – 5 PM
*Saturday 7 AM – 4 PM
*Sunday 1 PM – 11 PM
We welcome GSLIS interns to work with one or more of our librarians at any of these hours.
