Title: Intranet Architect/Coordinator
Company: Charles Stark Draper Lab
Headquartered in the Kendall Square area of Cambridge, Mass., we are a non-profit engineering research and development laboratory committed to providing solutions to our government and commercial sponsors—from early stage research through to workable prototype.
Position Description:
- Designs and develops the overall layout, navigation, and content of the Draper Intranet to maximize information findability.
- Coordinates activities of internal web content owners with site organization, layout, and content, developing templates as needed using appropriate tools (HTML, asp, SharePoint, etc).
- Responsible for intranet usability issues, including implementing best practices and conducting usability studies as needed.
* Coordinates testing, research and implementation of search tools.
* Performs technical integration of content between portal, data warehouse, and SharePoint.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- BS degree in Computer or Information Science
- Must have extensive knowledge of web tools, techniques and design-related applications (eg, Javascript, PHP, XML, CSS, DreamWeaver, Flex, SharePoint, SharePoint Designer)
- Knowledge of web-related usability and findability issues.
- Knowledge of principles of information architecture and information organization and retrieval.
- Strong interpersonal relations and communications skills, including instructional skills and ability to work in a team environment.
*Must be well-organized with excellent attention to detail and good problem solving abilities
