Reference and Instruction Librarian

The University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) is the newest senior campus of the University of South Carolina. USCB invites applications for an annually renewable, full-time Reference and Instruction Librarian. This is a 12-month position to begin immediately. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

The incumbent provides reference services and instruction of various types to faculty, students, staff and other library users. Reference is done in-person and via multiple electronic methods. Instruction is done to support the university’s goals of developing information literate students.

Required Qualifications: Position requires an ALA-accredited masters degree in library and information science, knowledge of computer technologies and library automated systems, and direct experience with course management systems, preferably Blackboard. Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently and as a member of the library team are also required.
